A troubled launch transformed into a dense neon RPG with atmosphere to spare.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now easier to judge as a game rather than an industry event. The strongest version of it is a stylish first-person RPG where mood, music, architecture, and character work combine into a city that feels hostile and seductive at once.
The best quests narrow the scale. Instead of trying to make every block reactive, they focus on people trapped by systems they barely understand. Those personal stories give the neon sprawl emotional weight.
Later updates sharpened cyberware, progression, police response, and combat flow. Hacking, blades, firearms, stealth, and mobility can now form satisfying identities instead of feeling like loose upgrade lanes.
Some open-world filler remains uneven, and the memory of launch problems will never completely disappear. Still, the current game is a compelling cyberpunk RPG with enough voice, confidence, and texture to earn a fresh look.
